Our youngest beauty!

Our youngest little beauty in our playgroup is turning 1! We just can't believe it! It is amazing how fast this year is going by! When we first met Ellie, she was only two months old. Here she is with her mama! So sweet....

Emily, Ellie's mommy decided on a flower theme to celebreate her baby girl's spring birthday. We were charged with making a flower themed birthday banner using the colors hot pink, yellow and kelly green.

Here is what we came up with! An adorable cupcake, spring bloom banner!

We used this beautiful and detailed design as the base in the colors Emily asked for and then used light pink paper in a flower, polka dot and striped pattern for the second letter layer. We then added four cupcakes to break apart the words, "Happy Birthday Ellie" and of course finished it off with lots of adorable matching ribbon!!

We are SO excited about the way that this banner turned out!  Emily & Ellie got a preview of it today at play group and they seemed really excited about it too! :)

That concludes our playgroup's first birthdays!! Whew! On to the world of toddlers for this group--It's going to get interesting! :)

R&R Creations would like to send out a very special happy 1st birthday shout out to our little princess, Ellie!

Mickey Update!

So Maddox and Aubrie's Mom LOVED the samples we sent her and she ordered more deocrations! As a reminder, she is the one who order the Mickey Inspired Banner for Maddox!

We even made some really cute decorations that incorporate Minnie for thier joint birthday party! First we did two personalized centerpieces including thier names:

We made them individualized since it is a joint party for a 4 year old girl and a 1 year old boy! For Maddox we included a 1 (his age), an M (his intial), his name on the basket, and all things Mickey Inspired! For Aubrie we included a 4 (her age), an A (her intial), her name on the bucket, and all things Minnie Inspired!

She also asked for a highchair banner. We stayed with our famous Mickey Inspired swirly ears so it matched the banner. So here's what we came up with:

This is a great way to show off your little one while he/she enjoys their first cake!

The last thing in her order was some personalized confetti for the table. We did both of their intials, thier ages, and of course some Mickeys!

Sunday link of support!

We decided that it would be nice to take one day a week to send out some support to fellow entrepreneurs, crafters and other websites that are near and dear to us. :)

This week we are focusing on fellow stay at home mom, Rhian! She is a fantastic photographer! Check out her site here: http://www.foralwaysphoto.com

I definitely see myself hiring Rhian to do some family pictures for us this coming summer. If you are in the Philadelphia area, look her up! Fantastic work, great pricing and a really fun mama to work with! :) Good luck with your venture, Rhian! Pin It Now!

On the road again!

Sad to be leaving my hometown of Dayton, Ohio and the comforts of my parents' home (and all of the help with my little demanding (and adorable) toddler!!) but I am excited to get back to Philadelphia and finish up the projects we have going on! :)

Whew, we are going to be SUPER busy this coming week!

Coming up:
TWO Mickey parties
A pirate Party
Custom 3D Elmo Thank you notes
Ellie's 1st birthday party (our youngest in our playgroup!)
A 30th birthday party
Finishing up TWO photo montages! (Dinosaur and Elmo)
Another 20 something birthday party

Here is a pic of our work in progress on the pirate party! This is a joint party for a little girl and boy so I asked the mother what color hair and eyes they had so that I could make little Pirate versions of them! The little boy has blond hair and the girl has light brown hair and they both have blue eyes. I added a blue gem stone embellishment for each and I think it turned out great! :) The outfits will of course also match their banners! :) We love to make things SUPER customized at R&R Creations and we feel that that is something that really sets us apart from the rest. Check these cute little guys out!

Keep checking back as we make big progress and have lots of fun new items for your viewing pleasure! Pin It Now!

Mary, Mary, Quite Contray!

Facebook is a wonderful thing! It helps us spread the word about our growing business so quickly! It also allows us to stalk peoples walls to see if any birthdays are coming up that may need banners! Such is the case for Mary's banner:
I saw someone I know post that her daughter's birthday party was next week, so of course I asked her if she needed any decorations! She said yes but I only had a week to make it and get it all the way to Colorado! Of course my business partner is away right now so I had to do it solo. I was able to get the order on Friday and have it in the mail on Monday morning! Of course a shout out needs to be given to my patient and caring husband who allowed me to fully embark on this mission by playing with our son so I could get it done!

So...short story long...I got it done! Here are some other photos of the full banner:

The Mickey that started it all!

Perhaps our most popular item in our Etsy shop is our special Mickey inspired banner. I have to say, we are pretty darn proud of this one! It's completely unique and therefore it draws a lot of attention. :) Don't get me wrong, the typical Mickey themed banners and such are ADORABLE and we will probably end up making a few because they are popular for a reason! But this one is just so different, we HAVE to share it.

We originally made this for a good friend of mine's son's first birthday party. She was our first official customer too! It was so awesome of her to hire us right when we were getting started!  (Thanks, Jess!!!!)

As you can see, the Mickey ears are a little funky and swirly so it adds a new twist to the usual Mickey silhouette! We then used five different kinds of patterned paper and seven kinds of ribbon to tie all together! so TONS of detail in this one, giving it a very rich look!

Anyway, people liked this banner so much that it lead to a lot of different spin offs! :) We LOVE spinoffs! Lots of room for  new creativity! Here is a name banner we did for an Etsy client in DE:

And a name banner in a Minnie Mouse inspired theme!!! Can't forget Minnie!! (especially since Natalie went as Minnie for her first Halloween!!) :)  So we used some different ribbon and replaced the red paper with pink and created this ADORABLE pink polka dot bow for her. And of course, put the bow off to the side because with the funky ears, this isn't a traditional in the middle of the head kind of banner!

Usually we make our banners three tiered because most house walls can accommodate that better than one LOOOOOOOOOONG banner. So we made this one for another etsy client in LA. We added an extra set of Mickey heads and were really happy with the way that it turned out! :)

So see, lots can come out of a single item! :) So if you see something you like, we can expand and change to make it EXACTLY what you want! Keep checking back as we work on Aubrie and Maddox's birthday party decorations! Coming up: a Mickey inspired centerpiece, a Minnie inspired centerpiece, a Mickey inspired high chair banner and................ confetti!!! Check back soon to see these super cute decorations! :)

It's all Mickey up in here!

So today I finalized some examples of what we could do for Maddox's birthday! Well, it's for him and his older sister, Aubrie who is turning 4. :) So this is a fun a challenge to incorporate both Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

Luckily as I mentioned since we got a sudden order with a quick turn around, I went out and bought some of the big equipment we needed to keep working. Included in this was some new equipment to be able to work on a lot of MICKEY and MINNIE mouse decorations! woooooo hooo!!!! I've been looking for this EVERYWHERE and now it is finally in my hands!!! :-D

So the first thing I made was this welcome sign: It's not completely finished because I don't have some of the equipment I need here to finish it up, but I just had to share it because it was just too stinkin' cute! Awesome start, right????

I also worked on some possible cupcake toppers/hanging decorations/items to put in a centerpiece.  I made sure that the paper matched the same paper that we used in Maddox's original birthday banner because we always want our parties to match perfectly! :)

I just sent out some ideas to Maddox and Aubrie's mama so we will see what all she is interested in! I will keep updating with new ideas as we get them! It is so fun to work on new themes and keep our creative juices flowing! :)

A long distance relationship

So this week, R&R Creations is a long distance relationship! I, (Reina) am in Ohio visiting my family while Rachel holds down the fort in Philly! So I dropped off all of our materials at Rachel's house before leaving for Ohio............. leaving my beloved Cricut at home......... because we both worked REALLY hard the two weeks before hand to finish our very large projects, so clearly I won't be needing it.

Ha!

Well, literally the first night I am here, I get a text from Rachel saying that we have a custom order that just came in. So I immediately go out and buy another cricut! haha! This way at least I can work on some big projects that just came in while she finishes up what she can back home.

Here is my new friend away from home and a bouquet of fresh flowers from a high school girlfriend of mine who worked at the farmer's market today! :)

We are currently putting together some examples of what we can do for a Mickey Birthday party, a pirate party and a 30th birthday party! So we have plenty to keep us busy! I don't know what I was thinking leaving my work materials at home since I was going on 'vacation!'

Never a dull moment! And luckily, we LOVE what we do, so who could ask for anything more? :)

We had an awesome mommy order a personalized Mickey inspired banner for her son, Maddox.

And she loved it so much that we are working on some additional party ideas for her! Check back soon to see what we came up with!

Hayden's Pluto banner!

So we are part of a great play group made up of six mommies and their babies. This of course is how we met! We meet once a week and have been doing so for about eight months now. Crazy to think it's been that long already!!! Our babies are growing up SO fast! Here is a "vintage" photo at this point of the whole gang! ** Mental note, time to take a new one!**

Anyway, as we started putting together Natalie's 1st birthday party, we realized we LOVED making decorations so we then promised the play group mommies a birthday banner for all of our "bonus babies'" 1st birthdays. :) Hayden, our second to youngest in the group loves Pluto so we made him this adorable banner!

We were excited to try a new kind of banner with the free hanging double letters. The original plan was to shadow the whole letter, making it more centered, but we weren't able to make it work the way that we wanted it to look. So....... we ended up cutting doubles and and offsetting the letters to create a shadowed look. Hayden isn't a "in the box" kind of little man, so this "problem" ended up resolving its self in a PERFECT kind of way. We are very pleased with the way it turned out! Happy 1st birthday, Mr. Hayden!!
