DIY with your toddler!

For Mother's day this year I wanted to do something special for my mother and Nana. I was also thinking it is getting to be time that I wanted to introduce Natalie to the wonderful world of crafting! :)

I knew it was going to be messy so down to a diaper she went! I sat her in her new pink desk and gave her a couple of toddler markers and let her go to town!

And with a little encouragement and direction for mommy, she was on her way to being a little artist! :)

Very proud of her work! I'm not sure if she got more on the paper or on herself!!

Once the art was done, I used that as my design paper for the wings of a butterfly! I cut using the "Create a critter" cartridge and cut at 3 inches.

Adding on the rest of the layers.... we have a finished butterfly!

 I made a few of these so I made one bigger one for a future scrapbook page for Natalie! :) I'm really excited about getting to that page! But it will be awhile considering I'm only at 4 months now...... hahah!

Anyway, back to the task at hand! So I added some cute designed paper and some rinestones and also popped the butterfly (of course!) with 3D foam blocks.

Then on the inside I welded a "Happy Mother's Day"

This was SUCH a fun project and we will definiately be doing more in the future! I am just so glad we were able to preserve Natalie's first drawing for the three most important ladies in Natalie's life! :)

Friday feel the love!

we did a Quinceanera party, which is kind of like a sweet 16 party, but for 15 year olds in the latin community! :)

Her project was quite unique in that she wantd a giant poster featuring a damask butterfly and a handmade scapbook. We worked very closely with her to make sure she got exactly what she wanted!

Our parties are out of this world!!

We had a special order through our blog instead of through our Etsy shop! She had seen something she liked on here and emailed us at Etsyrandrcreations@gmail.com and we were able to create this custom order for her and her son Matty!

She loved the primary color theme but wanted to add a little more to it! Since her son's party is at a planetarium she asked us to incorporate space into this banner (instead of the Mickey Inspired, Elmo, or simple party items we had already listed!)  

So we got to work and did some research! We were able to get these space images off an awesome website called letteringdelight.com! We made planets, rockets, a robot, and an astronaut!

We changed the ribbon a little too! Instead of all different patterned ribbons we stayed with the primary colors and added silver to it! So its a primary color and silver alternating with a primary color and white.

Dinosaurs hanging around!

A client in Maryland asked us to make some personalized hanging dinosaur decorations  for her son's first birthday!

So we made these! So cute! Her colors are green and blue so we followed that and added some orange to make it pop! We can do any color combination and age! We can also include a brontosaurus! :)

And we of course included a personalized thank you note! :)

Family DIY

I have been seeing a lot of these lately and thought that it looked pretty interesting....so I thought I would make one! I collected all the names of my family on my dads side and got to work!

First, I got a 12x12 piece of black cardstock (but you can use any color you want!)

Then, I cut out all the names of my family members on white cardstock with the Cricut. I used the Plantain School Book Cartridge and cut the names at one inch.

Next, I cut out the word FAMILY with the same cartridge only I cut it at 3 inches and used gray paper!

Last, I used my glue pen to glue all the names down and the word Family in the middle. (This takes the longest amount of time, but not too bad for 40 names)

Remember: you want to check the length of the names and make sure they go all the way to the end. Some times I had to switch some names around to make them fit nicely.

Also: If your family is still growing....leave some room like I did to add new comers to the family!

Mickey & Minnie, sitting in a tree!

We recently received an order for a little girl in Texas named Bella who is turning 3! She likes BOTH Mickey and Minnie so her mother asked us to incorporate both, but use the original Mickey centerpiece and birthday banner as our starting point. So we got working with our creative magic and voila! Here is the centerpiece!  We popped Bella out so that her name was double layers for an even cooler effect!



We then tackled the birthday banner! We changed up our red square scallop for a black and white polkadotted cirlce scallop and included both Mickey and Minnie in the banner! :)

And added a bow to one of the swirly Mickey mouse inspired heads!

And added LOTS of ribbon per usual!

We were quite pleased with how cute this turned out! It would be a great option for a twins or joint party too!

We got in contact with a woman named Meredith from a friend who's party we decorated (The Dino Party). Connor's mommy introduced us to Meredith because she is an event planner. So we thought we might be able to work together in some way! Turns out, her daughter's birthday is coming up and she asked us to help cut some things out for her!

She works in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas and does weddings and other events!
The Knot voted her best wedding planner in 2007, 2008, and 2009!!!!

Upcoming projects!!

Hello readers!

Oh my goodness, have we been BUSY! We have had a 15th birthday party, TWO Mickey/Minnie parties, a mermaid party, a 30th birthday, a space party and an alligator party all going on at the same time! WHEW!

Since we are working on it all at the same time, expect a HUGE influx of lots of fun new finished projects!! SO FUN! :)

But for now.... here is a preview!

Here is an adorable plaid alligator for a Lilly Pulitzer inspired party that we are doing for a client in California who is having a 1st birthday party in Florida! She loved our butterfly banner and asked us to make it an alligator instead! We love twists on our favorites!

Speaking of twists.....next, a client in Boston asked us to use our primary colors banner as our base and turn it into...... a space themed party for her 6 year old! How cute are these?!?!

And one more twist!

A client in Georgia asked us to do a mermaid party! Her soon to be three year old daughter is blond and loves her "big girl ponytail" so we of course made the mermaids to match! We will be doing some new things with the mermaid banner so check back soon!

Feliz Quincenera!

We received an order about a girls 15th birthday (Quincenera). Her mom wanted a poster as a welcome sign into the party! This wasn't something we usually do, so we really had to stretch our imaginations and get creative! The theme was pink, butterflies, and Damask pattern! So we put it all together and this is what we came up with (with much help from her Mom!)

We outlined both the black and the Damask with a shiny pink ribbon!

We added Rhinestones to the swirls!

I think we hit all the bases: Pink, Damask and Butterflies!

A day at the zoo!

We recently have been working on an extremely custom butterfly party for a customer in Reading, PA. She has a daughter, Alex who will be turning 15 and she is having a Quinceanera party. We also just got in two mickey mouse orders AND a mermaid party so we are going to be BUSY! :) We will keep you posted as the projects come closer to completion!

So, to give our creative brains and our ever so understanding toddlers a fun break, we went to the zoo today!

We had a lovely time and a few of Natalie & Wes' friends came with us! The kids had so much fun chasing each other around and it was the perfect temperature/weather for a morning stroll to the zoo!

And of course, Rachel and I had to dress the munchkins in their personalized shirts from a fellow Etsy store owner. :) A future "Sunday link of support" I am sure!

baby monsters

We recently had a client request baby monster invites for her "little monsters" themed baby shower! She loved our monster invite and wanted an EVEN cuter monster. We weren't quite sure how we were going to make it cuter......... but then....... we did!! :)

We present to you, our readers....... our five baby monsters:

So STINKING cute, right?!?! A monster with a paci or a diaper?? Stop it!!! :)

She then picked two of her favorite monsters and asked us to add  "it's a boy" to the corner of the invite where we traditionally add the child's initial or age. It definitely added a great flare to the invite that tied it all together!
