Sugar and Spice and everything nice- spring baby shower

The world is about to welcome a new little baby girl into the world!

The help celebrate, a grandma to be asked us help her with her daughter's baby shower! She had already created some decorations herself so she sent me some samples of paper she was using in the mail so that I could match as closely as possible. Well, I was able to find the EXACT paper, so her party will all tie together seamlessly! :)

First was a banner to go over the food table that read "Sugar & Spice"

The letters were popped off with 3D foam blocks and we tied it with tulle and ribbon for an adorably detailed look!

The full banner!

And next up was a welcome sign. The shower is going to be a spring theme, so the grandma to be asked that we incorporate not only butterflies and flowers, but bunnies as well.

Here is the full welcome sign! Popped off with multiple levels of 3D blocks for lots of different levels and detail!

SUCH a cute time of year for a baby shower!! <3

You are invited to a butterfly event!

This past Friday night, I told my husband that at midnight I was calling it. No matter what messages come in, if it is after midnight, I will respond in the morning because I was going to get some sleep!  Well, sure enough at 11:58 my etsy app on my iPhone popped up with a conversation from a new client who loved our Lilly Pultizer inspired butterfly banner and asked us to do some invitation proofs for her that would match!

So............ I'm a little OBSESSED with our Etsy store so I of course couldn't sleep all night because I was coming up with all of these ideas of how we could make them! Then Rachel and I met first thing in the morning at Michaels to discuss and plan.

Well, without further ado..... here it is!!

We did our most popular tri-fold style invitation with the matching plaid butterfly on the front and  have the first initial of the child who is having the party. We then used this beautiful shimmery white paper as the background to the butterfly. We originally wanted to use a patterned paper, but the butterfly is supposed to be the focal point and the patterns were taking away from it. We tried a lot of different combinations, but once we tried the shimmery paper,  we fell in love!

Here is a closeup of our cute little friend!

Diamonds are a girl's best friend

I recently received some cute little packages for baby Natalie from my aunts and grandmother and have been meaning to sit down and write them a thank you note. So as I was going through my April calendar and making my list of  cards to purchase, I had a smack myself in the forehead moment...... duh! I can make them myself and they will be SO much cuter and more personalized than anything I would buy at any store.

Meanwhile, I have been wanting to make a few of these critters for a while now, but just haven't made the time so this was my perfect opportunity!

I went a little crazy making them and I will feature others in future posts, but today I wanted to focus on these adorable little gals!

Ahhh! So cute, right??? I added little gem stones as the cheeks for the bumble bee and a bigger one for the little bird's "hair" accessory. These pictures don't even do them justice!

These can be used for anything! Cupcake toppers, invitations, thank yous, birthday cards, shower cards, or even the end caps for a banner! For example "Baby Shower" I just LOVE the possibilities!

Here is an example of the adorable thank yous that can be made! I didn't glue them down because I want the intended recipients to be the first to see their actual cards.... so no spoil alerts! :)

Check back for the finished products and to  meet their other critter friends! :)

Our youngest beauty!

Our youngest little beauty in our playgroup is turning 1! We just can't believe it! It is amazing how fast this year is going by! When we first met Ellie, she was only two months old. Here she is with her mama! So sweet....

Emily, Ellie's mommy decided on a flower theme to celebreate her baby girl's spring birthday. We were charged with making a flower themed birthday banner using the colors hot pink, yellow and kelly green.

Here is what we came up with! An adorable cupcake, spring bloom banner!

We used this beautiful and detailed design as the base in the colors Emily asked for and then used light pink paper in a flower, polka dot and striped pattern for the second letter layer. We then added four cupcakes to break apart the words, "Happy Birthday Ellie" and of course finished it off with lots of adorable matching ribbon!!

We are SO excited about the way that this banner turned out!  Emily & Ellie got a preview of it today at play group and they seemed really excited about it too! :)

That concludes our playgroup's first birthdays!! Whew! On to the world of toddlers for this group--It's going to get interesting! :)

R&R Creations would like to send out a very special happy 1st birthday shout out to our little princess, Ellie!
