real life parties- Spiderman party cake topper

We had a mama request a spiderman ONLY party.

She wanted our centerpiece, but wanted to make it into a cake topper........ she asked that we make the spiderman larger than we usually do and to have all of our accessories be spiderman themed instead of our usual mixed super hero theme.

So we did the age "3" popped off of the spiderman spider and did his name with the spider at the end!

She did such a great job taking what we sent her and making it her own! :)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE seeing pics from our parties!!

Have some pics you would like to share? Please email us at Etsyrandrcreations@gmail.com and maybe your party will be featured on our blog too!!!

DIY shirts in ANY theme

Oh my goodness, I am just SO excited about this!!

For my daughter's birthday, she choose a very unusual theme so finding a personalized shirt was basically impossible. So in the midnight hour of planning the party, I had an eureka moment! I can MAKE them myself.

Let me preface this by saying I do NOT sew and I am actually not that good at being crafty. (Just PAPER! haha!)

I bought this at walmart:

Avery printable iron ons.

Here are the super simple steps involved:

1. google images from your theme
2. save and import into microsoft word
3. print on your ink jet
4. cut out the image as close to the actual image as possible.
5. placing the shirt on a table on top of a pillow case, iron on at the cotton setting. (Also need the waxy paper provided)
6. allow to cool
7. wash in the washing machine inside out
8. dry on low in the dryer.

*** Step 7 and 8 I did not anticipate so I was lucky I did it with a few hours to go before her party.

I then decorated the back as well! I put a cutting board in between the layers of the shirt (once the front of the shirt had dried) and it worked really well!!!

Here are the final products!

Personalized with name and age!

One for little Gavin too!

And the front!

I'm sooooooooooooooo excited and addicted to this!! :) It was SO easy and I just love that the possibilities are endless!!

crafting with toddlers- handprint turkey

Here is a fun way to preserve your child's handprint AND do something fun with them!

Although this is something my daughter and I did for thanksgiving, it can easily be adjusted to fit any holiday or season. :)

You will need:

1. google eyes
2. an empty toilet paper roll
3. construction paper or scrapbook paper

I traced my daughter's hand once and then used that as a stencil to make it easier to trace since it was SO HARD to keep her holding still! haha!

I cut a full set in each color.....

But only ended up needing one set! It looked too busy with all six hand prints.

Glue the google eyes on with elmers glue, hot glue or even our favorite..... the martha stewart glue pen. I also cut out the beak and gobble thing (what's that called? lol) out by hand to make it extra turkey like.

SO CUTE!! You can also do something similar for reindeer antlers! Stay tuned as I'm sure we will do it! :)

Happy crafting!!

Throwing a party outside of your home--- what you need

So this year with the birth of our son just two months ago, we decided to have our daughter's 3rd birthday party outside of our home. We traditionally do it at home so that I can have the ability to really decorate like mad for the party, but cleaning before and after with a newborn baby just wasn't happening.

I decided to throw her party at The Little Gym, where Natalie takes gymnastics class. I was completely shocked when I found out I had 10 minutes to set up for her party between when the first party was over and when her friends would arrive.

TEN MINUTES!!!

I took a deep breath and viewed it as an exercise of what to recommend to our clients as a lot of people are in the same situation of not having much time or control over how their party looks.

So here are the top items we would recommend that are quick to setup and are sure to make your party look great!

1.) A birthday banner- OBVIOUSLY! You want to give the guest of honor the shout out that they deserve!! :) We can personalize all of our banners to have the age and name of your child in ANY theme and ANY color combination!

Here was Natalie's birthday banner:

2.) A cake topper or cupcake toppers- This is a subtle way to tie everything together and it just looks so darn cute! ***PLEASE NOTE**** We said, subtle! So many times, people think you need a cupcake topper for EVERY cupcake. We do not recommend you do that as it starts to look too crowded and takes away from the simple cute factor. We recommend 1/2-1/3 of the cupcakes have toppers. For example, I had 36 cupcakes and made 18 toppers.

Natalie's cake topper for our cake we had the night before during our family celebration

Which I then reused at the topper of her cupcake tower!! I LOVE the way it turned out!!

3.) Hanging decorations-- I didn't acutally hang these, but put them on the wall with sticky tack and it litterally took me two minutes! :) Some places will allow you to hang things from the ceiling, but others won't, so be sure to find out ahead of time! I just put them on the wall so it would be quicker.

We typically package our hanging decorations in sets of 5s, and I'm not sure how I would classify what I did for this party, but I would say 2 sets would be perfect.

4.) Favor bags/tags- Most people give favors at the end of the party, so why not continue on with your theme to make it personalized and even more adorable? Here is a great way to give anything as your favor, but still keep it within your theme and coordinating!

The favor tags can be any item from your theme, or a shadow with a "Thanks" on it! I did the full characters and then wrote the name of each child so the favors would be personalized.

We offer favor bags already assembled, or you can do it yourself and save! Simply affix the die cut to any bag with glue, or for a detailed look....a 3D foam block!

So there you have it! The less than 10 minute fabulous party set up! :) Happy party planning!

Pocoyo Welcome Sign

Pocoyo is the cutest little cartoon character! That is why this welcome sign is so adorable!
A teal scalloped square backing with a lime green square in front. The big white block lettering can be completely customized for your child! Two Pocoyos popped off on either side of the sign will welcome all your guests to the party!
