The Easiest DIY Advent Calendar: It's not too late!

Have you been meaning to make that Advent calendar, but just haven't gotten around to it?...
Keep seeing the ones at Target and think "I can make that!"...

Well me too! But life kept getting in the way, until today! I sat down this morning and decided it wasn't too late. I looked on Pinterest and formed a plan. I wanted something I could use again but wasn't too expensive. This is a step by step of what I came up with! There are hundreds of ways to do this, so I suggest doing some research and deciding what's right for you!

For my bag advent calendar you will need:
String
Number stickers
Bags
Clips
Small foam stickers
Hot glue gun

Number each bag.

Add small foam stickers to the clips. (This is optional and just adds a cuteness factor!)

Hot glue the string to the backs of the clips facing down. (This is the most tedious part.)

Add your trinkets into each bag!
I hope this inspires you to make your own advent calendar! I would love to see what you come up with! Enjoy! And Happy Holidays!

Bubble Wecome Sign

Our Bubble Theme is a staple in our repertoire of themes so we have done quite a lot of them! But this one was exceptionally cute! We used mint teal and shimmer white in the sign to match the invitation the customer had sent us!

We used a cute white and teal polka dot ribbon to tie it together! Check back to the matching items in this color theme!

The Secrets Out!!! DIY Bulb Wreaths easier than you thought!

Every time I saw one of these wreaths at a store I thought to myself I could make that!!! So I finally sat down a researched how to do it. It didn't seem too hard so I went to the store and got everything I needed! I was determined to make my very own Bulb Wreath!
Items you need:
A simple wire wreath
Bulbs (any colors you want!) 3 different sizes. (NOTE: You need more than you think! Get extra!!!)
Hot glue gun and LOTS of glue
A ribbon or tinsel
christmas-ornament-wreath
1) Wrap the ribbon or tinsel around the wire wreath. Hot glue the end down.
2) Lie the wreath upside down and hot glue large bulbs along the outside. (The hole of the bulb should be facing up) You want them to be pretty close together. Let dry.
3) Turn over and begin gluing bulbs on the front of the wreath. Start with the biggest ones then fill in with medium size and then add volume with the tiny ones.
4) Add a ribbon to the back to hang or just use a wreath hanger.

3 Ways to use the do the same thing: Color Scheme

When it comes to a party, you want everything to match, but sometimes it can get a little much.

Variety within the same color scheme, or pattern is key! Pictured above are three banners all for one party. But each one is a little different.

1) Name banner: This one uses medium purple scallops with 4 different patterned papers. Butterflies on the ends.
2) High chair banner: We alternated a light purple and medium purple scallop with three of the patterned papers. Butterflies on the ends.
3) Name banner: Light purple scallops and the exact same patterned paper, but in a different line up. Butterflies on the ends.

With all of these differences we needed some constants. Some things that did NOT change.

1) Butterflies: It's the theme so it has to be a constant. Every single butterfly is exactly the same: Medium purple scallop. Pink chevron patterned wings with light purple outline on the wing and a teal antenna.
2) Letters: All the letters are teal with a white shadow to really make it pop off the patterned paper.
3) Ribbon: Each banner is tied exactly the same. Tulle with a skinny colored ribbon (teal, light purple, medium purple, and pink)
4) Patterns: Even though we used 5 different patterned paper (pink chevron, purple polka dot, purple damask, and light pink polka dot) we used the same ones in each banner.

Butterfly Cupcake Toppers

Chevron is really popular right now! These pink chevron butterflies are adorable with the two tones of purple and teal antennas!
To personalize the cupcake toppers we add silhouettes of butterflies with the age and initial of the birthday girl!
*No need to go overboard on the amount of cupcake toppers you get! Not every cupcake needs a topper. It can start looking crowded and messy! One set of 12 is plenty. (especially if you display them on a cupcake stand!)

Snowman Photo Montage

We have two different fomats for our first year photo montages. The one we usually do is hot glued to a long piece of ribbon with clips behind the ages. However, not everyone has a 5 foot long wall to hang such a montage on. So we created a different layout.
This one includes a sign for the middle (or however you want to display it), and 13 5x7 cardstock rectangles for the photos to be attached to. Also, we include the ages on the snowflake with asticky pop on the back for you to attach to the cardstock (depending on which layout the photo is, horizontal or vertical).

Pocoyo Food Tents

We have been doing more and more food tents lately! It is a really cute way to decorate the food and keep with the theme! Some people go all out and have matching wording to rhyme with the characters on the food tents!
Just set them in front of each dish to let everyone know what's being served! Also good for people with allergies or food aversions!
